1st Emergency Care Instructors Conference

#ECICON2024
Sept 2024

The Emergency Care Instructors in Kenya had their inaugural conference themed #EverydayHeroes on the 14th of September 2024 at Hadassah Hotel; Nairobi.

The #ECICON2024 was geared towards reviewing the current state of EMS globally vs. how we are performing locally.

Keynote Address made by Mr. Fredrick Ndiawo, an experienced emergency care provider & researcher, stressed on the mandate accorded to Emergency Care Instructors, the economic impact associated with medical & trauma emergencies, the World Health Assembly Resolutions 72.16 and the value of simulation based trainings  vs. witnessed real-life outcomes.

He gave the reflection: “No matter how good you are as an instructor, on the unlikely event you require the emergency services, the outcome will be dependent on those who are around you.” hence need for offering quality training and equipping our future course participants with the absolute best.

While declaring #ECICON2024 officially open, Mr. Ndiawo emphasized on need for Emergency Care Instructors to keep their practice current via peer-to-peer review and sharpening each other’s skills.

The conference was also graced by Dr David BANZI, an AHA Instructor based in the Democratic Republic of Congo amongst several other Emergency Care Instructors who had round table discussions sharing experiences and tips on how to move our agenda forward.

Wishing all the best to all our instructors & instructor candidates and looking forward to the 2025 Instructors Conference.
