Prime Care Trainers at #TENSCON2024 – Celebrating Emergency Nurses and Advancing Emergency Care

The 1st Trauma & Emergency Nurses Scientific Conference (#TENSCON2024), organized by the Trauma & Emergency Nurses Chapter (TENC) of the National Nurses Association of Kenya (NNAK), was held on 9th & 10th September 2024 at the prestigious Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.

This landmark event coincided with Emergency Nurses Week (#ENWeek2024) and Emergency Nurses Day — a global celebration recognizing the dedication, resilience, and critical contributions of emergency nursing professionals.

This year’s theme, “Nurses Make The Difference,” highlighted the indispensable role of nurses in emergency and trauma care.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. David Karuri, MBS (BladeDoc) — a renowned trauma surgeon and super bike champion. His powerful message focused on the pivotal role of emergency nurses, the need for emotional resilience and mental well-being in the workplace, the creation of communities of practice, the importance of professional networking platforms, and the integration of technology in healthcare — all while affirming that healthcare remains, at its core, a human endeavor.

The conference featured a wide range of insightful talks, including:
